About
Here’s getting to know me. Prior to relocating to the United States, I lived in Africa. I am originally from Liberia. I was born and raised there. Coming to the U.S., I’ve been told that I grew up in an “exotic” land. My childhood was colorful, fun, dramatic, and tragic.
Growing up in Kakata was a colorful adventure for the simple fact that I lived the “it takes a village to raise a child” culture. All of the parents had an understanding in my community. They could discipline kids from any family without an issue being raised. In addition to being flogged by a “community parent” for bad behavior, you were given a note to deliver to your parents, which in turn, guaranteed another level of punishment. With all of these eagle to discipline parents keeping watch, it did not deter us kids from mischief. As I look back on those days, I have no regrets because each parent had a hand in shaping the person I am today. I had an entire community of people loving me and instilling in me the principles and morals of life that are mine today.
During my late teen years, Liberia suffered a devastating civil war which affected the entire nation and adjoining countries. My beloved Father was killed during this time. I lived through it until escaping to the Ivory Coast. Those were dark days; I did not know fear until that period in my life.
Once here in the States, I obtained an associate degree in Wide Area Network at Northern Virginia Community College in Sterling, Va. I then spent another two years at George Mason University in Fairfax pursuing my studies. Two years later, I graduated from Old Dominion University in Norfolk, VA with a bachelor of science degree in Information Technology. While in school, I worked at Sprint as a Network Engineer for 15 years until my job was outsourced to India.
Having had the opportunity to graduate from college, I worked in Corporate America as Network Specialist. That experience was great but it also propelled me to become self- employed. So, I turned to my passion, Real Estate. I love everything Real Estate related and I am now an excellent Realtor by trade. Since obtaining licenses in both North and South Carolina, I have hung my hat at best firm in the business, Keller Williams. Real Estate has always been in my blood. From building a thatch hut in my back yard in Kakata to flipping properties in Rhode Island and Virginia.
I am an animal lover. I love cats and dogs but I absolutely LOVE and adore monkeys and goats. I grew up with both as pets. They can be a handful and they are not everyone’s cup of tea. But I guess, that’s the reason I am so enameled by them. They will get into everything and anything. They are the “terrible twos” their entire lives. Oh, the stories I have! Another unique thing about me is I love the smell of skunks and puppy breath.
I hope with knowing me a little about me, you will consider forging a relationship. I am honest, dependable, hardworking, loyal, a great communicator, and very resourceful. I will go to real estate battle for you. Choosing me to serve you will be an honor. I look forward to being your agent, building a relationship of trust, and helping you realize your Real Estate dreams.
